1. General Information

The department was founded in 2010 and it aims to increase product quality and quantity in animal production in agricultural activity.  It gives theoretical and practical Master of Science educations in the fields of animal rearing, animal breeding, animal feeding and health protection. The Animal Science has three sub-programs: Animal Breeding, Feeds and Animal Nutrition and Biometry and Genetics. Master of Science education started in 2011.

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The MSc program consists of minimum of seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, to graduate from the program, minimum 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit thesis study must be completed. The letter grade of the courses must be at least CC, and the cumulative grade ponit average (CGPA) must be at least 3.0/4.0..

Universities, Turkey Ministry of Food Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Turkey Ministry of Forestry and Waterworks, Public or Private Banks, Agricultural credit cooperatives, , Municipalities, Private farms and food factories and so forth. Graduates can also establish their own farms.

 11. Examinations, Measurement and Evaluation

Evaluation and assesment methods for each course are determined  by the course instructor and announced in the beginning of the term. The relevant information is described in the Course Information Form of each course. Grades/success evalutions of courses are conducted according to the ESOGU-GER.

12. Graduation Requirements

The MSc program consists of minimum seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, minimum of 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit  thesis study must be taken.

The MSc program is four semesters and the maximum completion period is six semesters.

To graduate from the program, the student must write their  thesis according to the Thesis Writing Guide determined by the Graduate School and succesfully defend in front of jury.

15. Department / Program Opportunities

The department was established in 2010 and is located in Ali Numan Kirac Campus of Eskisehir Osmangazi University. There are Poultry Research and Application Coop, Small Livestock Research and Application Laboratory, 1280-capacity Hatchery, Quail Breeding Unit, Broiler Breeding Unit, Feed Unit, Animal Feed and Animal Breeding Laboratories. There is a free range layer hen coop. In addition, forage and concentrate feed analyses are provided to farmers.
