Our department in which traditional and modern methods are used to give knowledge and skills on basic chemistry in courses and laboratories and with the increased number of elective courses it is aimed to ensure that students have a broader perspective. Our students are receiving current academic and vocational basic training in the field of chemistry and following graduation they can work as academic and professional researchers, practitioners in industrial enterprises or educators.

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The MSc program consists of minimum of seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, to graduate from the program, minimum 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit thesis study must be completed. The letter grade of the courses must be at least CC, and the cumulative grade ponit average (CGPA) must be at least 3.0/4.0..

Graduates can get jobs in research and development laboratories of several public or private sector establishments in the fields of drug, textile, ceramics, cosmetics and automotive as well as researchers in their branches. Furthermore they can work in educational institutions as chemistry teachers. Our students are offered training opportunities in contemporary and modern conditions at laboratories.

11. Examinations, Measurement and Evaluation
Evaluation and assesment methods for each course are determined by the course instructor and announced in the beginning of the term. The relevant information is described in the Course Information Form of each course. Grades/success evalutions of courses are conducted according to the ESOGU-GER.
12. Graduation Requirements
The MSc program consists of minimum seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, minimum of 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit thesis study must be taken.
The MSc program is four semesters and the maximum completion period is six semesters.
To graduate from the program, the student must write their thesis according to the Thesis Writing Guide determined by the Graduate School and succesfully defend in front of jury.

In the Department of Chemistry there are 13 professors, 7 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 4 teaching assistants, one expert and three administrative staff.
The Department has 4 classrooms ( in F5 Block) and 26 offices ( in a total area of 710 m2), three student labs in an area of 338 m2 and a mini- computer lab ( in F5 Block) and 13 research labs of totally 908 m2 area )
