Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (Master’s Degree)

1.General Information 

The physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Master's program was established in 2021 within the Institute of Health Sciences. In the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, rehabilitation includes physical, psychological, social, environmental, and societal approaches based on scientific foundations, pioneering in new methods and applications in the light of science, innovative, accurate, fast, up-to-date, and effective in information flow. It is aimed to train physiotherapists who plan and implement their studies and specialize in various fields.

4. Acceptance Requirements

For students who want to apply to the program, in addition to the general admission requirements in the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Graduate Education Regulation; Having Bachleor Degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, having received at least 60 in numerical score type from the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) held centrally by OSYM, At least 65 from the foreign language (English) exam accepted by our University Senate and  They must have a minimum of 2.5 undergraduate grade point average over a 4-point system.

5. Acceptance of Former Educations

Bachleor’s Degree or international equivalent education in the field of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is valid.

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The master's program with a thesis consists of at least a total of twenty-one credits and at least seven courses, a seminar course, a specialization course, and a thesis. This program consists of a total of at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least seven courses and a seminar course, as well as a specialization course and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in an academic year. The success grade of the courses must be at least CC and the academic success grade must be at least 3.00 out of 4.00. Specialization courses, seminar courses and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as sufficient or insufficient.

7. Program Profile (Objectives)

To teach special physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches at international standards to undergraduate physiotherapists, to lead them to develop new theories and methods, to raise awareness of working in technological research issues, to give graduates who know and apply the ethical rules of evaluation, treatment program and standardization, new methods in their thesis. It is aimed to train expert physiotherapists who practice research and whose results affect clinical rehabilitation programs.

8. Program Qualification (Outputs)

Follows the scientific developments in basic measurement, evaluation and treatment techniques specific to the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and uses the knowledge gained in his professional and academic studies. Plans research in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, takes part in projects and interprets the results, writes the report, presents it at meetings, or publishes it. Contributes to community health and policies.

9. Employment Opportunities

They can work as a specialist physiotherapist in academic staff in units affiliated to Institutes, Faculties and Schools, in private or public hospitals, and health institutions.

10. Access to Higher Educational Programs

Students who complete the program; can apply to doctoral programs.

12. Graduation Requirements

In order to obtain a master's degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, it is necessary to have successfully completed at least 120 ECTS courses that meet the program qualifications and to have successfully defended the thesis.

15. Department Resources

Students who study in the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Master's program can use their equipment and research opportunities in the Orthopedic Prosthesis and Orthotics laboratory in the Vocational School of Health Services (1st vacuum combined electrotherapy device, 1 ultrasound device, 2 portable TENS devices, 1 PAGANI brand electrotherapy device. , measuring and control tools (calipers, measuring bench, etc.), milling benches, drill machine, press oven, 2 pedograph devices) and course tools and computer facilities affiliated to the Health Sciences Institute.
