MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM
General Information
Stem Cell department is a scientific discipline that targets the field of biotechnology and aims to provide infrastructure for advanced scientific research and technology development studies in this field, which contains the substructure of stem cell, cellular therapy, renewable medicine, biotechnology and tissue engineering. As of February 17, 2017, the Institute of Health Sciences Stem Cells was established and Master and Doctorate programs were opened.
Stem Cells Department performs scientific research, research and projects at a high level in all basic and applied fields related to stem cells and is able to produce world-class education and scientific data. Our Department offers technical and scientific facilities for project and thesis researches, utilizing the unit and laboratory facilities of the Cellular Therapy and Stem Cell Production, Application and Research Center (ESTEM), as well as conducting postgraduate training programs.
The Stem Cell Department was established to meet the need for postgraduate programs, which are still very few in number, in line with the increasing demand in our country on stem cells, by implementing basic and advanced level education programs on stem cells and cellular therapies in Turkey and abroad. As in the whole world, the scientific and unethical practices of stem cells in our country, made by exaggerated / misguided persons or groups of interest, pose a danger to patients. For this reason, the branches of education established or to be established within the University and the Institute will provide significant contributions to the stem cell and cellular treatment sector in order to produce scientific information in the light of graduate education and to apply these treatments under bioethics and biosecurity conditions. For this purpose, our department has provided multidisciplinary training in the field of stem cells in our dams. Training programs focus on the goal of better understanding of stem cell and cellular functioning and behavior and the treatment of diseases. Post-graduate training programs are carried out with the content necessary for cell production, reproduction, storage under appropriate conditions, and for use by clinical and scientific research groups in our country, consistent with bioethics and biosafety rules.
Proficiency, knowledge and experience gained from dissertation and project studies are being shared with other researchers in the field of education and graduate education programs and important contributions are made to their education and country so that our country has enough experience and knowledge in science and application in this field in future. In addition to this, our Stem Cell Anabilim Dairy serves to prepare the knowledge, experience, skill, scientific infrastructure and most importantly academic and qualified human power necessary for clinical applications and treatments that are expected to pass through the world intensively in the near future.
Qualification
Stem Cell Diplomas are awarded to those who have successfully completed their Master degrees in the Department of Stem Cells.

Admission and Enrollment Terms
The conditions specified in the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Graduate Education Regulation apply. In addition to these conditions, applicants for the Master's program will be required to;
a- Have undergraduate education in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics and Genetics, Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as graduates with the conditions deemed appropriate by the Department Board).
b- Candidates will be asked to write two letters of recommendation and a letter of purpose reflecting their future goals and objectives and their perspective on science and scientific developments, and an oral interview will be held.
c- For applicants with a bachelor's degree; In addition to the ALES score, the scientific assessment exam/interview result and undergraduate GPA will also be evaluated.
Recognition of Former Education
Students who do not have sufficient knowledge base in the field of stem cell biology are advised to participate in the Scientific Advancement Program in the first year.
A student enrolled in the Stem Cell Master program at another Health Sciences Institute may be transferred to the ESOGU SBE Stem Cell Master program.
Competency Requirements and Terms
All students are required to comply with the rules and regulations set forth in the ESOGU Postgraduate education and training manual.
Thesis graduate program consists of at least a total of twenty credits; at least seven courses, a seminar course, a specialization course and thesis study. The student must complete 120 ECTS credits, at least 60 ECTS each year. Students will also be offered elective courses.
Objectives of the Program
Eskisehir Osmangazi University Institute of Health Sciences Stem Cell Department; It aims to be in the capacity of producing world-class education and scientific data by conducting scientific education, research and projects at a high level in all basic and applied fields related to stem cells.
The primary purpose of the Stem Cell graduate program is; to meet the needs of the graduate program which is still very few in the direction of increasing demand in our country about the stem cell by applying basic and advanced education programs about stem cell and cellular therapy in domestic and abroad.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Persons receiving master's diploma from the Department of Stem Cells can pursue their profession in the fields of research and education and in the stem cell centers that exist in the state or private sector.
Access to Further Studies
One who holds a Master's degree may continue his PhD program.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are required to take midterms and final exam to be able to evaluate the success of a course. Course success; ESOGU is determined according to the rules and regulations stated in the graduate education guide.

The curriculum of the Stem Cell Department is implemented on a full-time basis.

There are 12 Professors, 6 Associate Professors and 6 Assistant Professors working in the master and doctorate programs of the Stem Cell Department. The Stem Cell Department has a Human Stem Cell Unit, an Animal Stem Cell Unit, a Cancer and Immunophenotyping Unit, a Tissue Engineering and Cryopreservation Unit, an Immunohistochemistry and Microscopy Unit, a Molecular Biology and Gene Therapies Unit, a seminar room and offices.
