Aged Care Program (Çifteler)

1. General Information

Our school Aged Care Program started in 2010-2011 academic year. Program has a quota of 70 students.

The aim of the program in the associate degree vocational school of health services  is to give a comprehensive associate degree that provides to the students to train at a professional level of Aged Care Program to train health staff to know the basic features and skills to meet the needs of the elderly in this direction, but also the ability to approach a holistic composed of elderly people are graduated as a medical technician.

 

2. Qualification

Undergraduate students who successfully complete the program are awarded in the field of Optician Program.

 

3. Level of Qualification

Associate degree

 

4. Specific Admission Requirements

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are acceptable to begin the program.

 

5. Recognition of Prior Learning

In Turkısh Higher Education Institutions, recognition of prior learning, vertical, horizontal and in-house transfers take place in the scope of ‘’ UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND HİGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SWITCH BETWEEN PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MİNOR AND MAKING TRANSFER BETWEEN CREDIT INSTITUTIONS BASIS OF REGULATION’’ which is determined by The Council of Higher Education.

In Turkey, apart from formal education institutions, an exemption exam is held for some computer and foreign language courses at the beginning of each academic year within the context of recognizing certificate or experience- based learning. Those who pass these exams are exempt from aforesaid courses in the curriculum.

 

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meeting a minimum of 120/240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, FZ or YZ grades.


7. Profile of the Program

To contribute to the level of professional knowledge To develop professional communication skills. Creating the ability to access the current information relate to the program To gain the ability to communicate and exchange information with the counterparts in the field of practice of the profession in a healthy way To gain awareness of application of  the rules of professional deontology To have a basic level of knowledge related to the field of health To be able to use technological products related to the field To win the necessary hand skill of the  applications related to the field To win the ability of the application of  sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis  To win the ability of the solving the problems that may arise during the professional practice in a healthy way To gain the ability of  making decisions quickly and accurately related to the field  Having information about the health care legislation To gain awareness of professional responsibility To gain the necessary knowledge and experience in occupational safety To contribute to the intellectual level.

 

9. Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Aged Care Program Graduates: Elderly care services Social Services and Child Protection Agency carried out, Municipalities, Hospitals, NGOs and private institutions conducted, nursing homes, homes for the elderly, weak, hostel, day centers for the elderly, Hospice, applications for elderly health units, home care services, elderly home editing, proof dwellings, and so on. work under the guidance of an expert.

Aged Care Program Graduates: They perform their duties in Social Services and Child Protection Agency, Municipalities, Hospitals, NGOs and private institutions , nursing homes, homes for the elderly, weak, hostel, day centers for the elderly, Hospice, applications for elderly health units, home care services, elderly home editing, proof dwellings, and so on.


10. Access to Further Studies

Students continue their graduate education with DGS exam. They complete license program in Elder Care Nutrition and Dietetics , Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services degree programs.

15. Department / Program Facilities

There are with a capacity of 40 students in Aged Care Program that has elderly principles and applications laboratory. There are support of the Faculty of Medicine Faculty Members / staff  and  Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts and Sciences for Courses inoptician.  Practice applications of students is in Nursing Home and the State Hospital.
