1. General Information

Aim of the Construction Technology program is to train technicians who can apply the projects designed by engineers and architects. Technicians can perform the calculations of the structural system of a building in addition to applying pre-designed projects. Graduates can find employment in state institutions and organizations and in private corporations.

After successful completion of the program, students are given associate degree diplomas in the field of Construction Technology.

4. Admission and Enrollment Terms

General admission and enrollment terms are eligible for Turkish and foreign students.

 

5. Recognition of Former Education

In Turkish Higher Education institutions, recognition of prior learning, vertical, horizontal and in-house transfers take place in the scope of “UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SWITCH BETWEEN PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR ANDMAKING TRANSFER BETWEEN CREDIT INSTITUTIONS BASIS OF REGULATION” which is determined by The Council of Higher Education.

In Turkey, apart from formal education institutions, an exemption exam is held for some computer and foreign language courses at the beginning of each academic year within the context of recognizing certificate or experience-based learning. Those who pass these exams are exempt from aforesaid courses in the curriculum.

 

6. Competency Requirements and Terms

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meeting a minimum of 120 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, DZ or YZ grades.

 

7. Objectives of the Program

Construction technology program aims to train technicians who have the qualification for applying engineering and architecture projects, have the ability to perform quantity survey and use surveying equipment and have the ability of team-work and excellent communication with his/her colleagues.

 

8. Program Competencies (Learning Outcomes)

Ability to apply engineering and architecture projects, use surveying equipment and perform quantity survey, work as site manager.

 

9. Careers

Graduates can find employment at general directorate of state hydraulic works, ministry of environment and urban planning. Also, graduates can be employed at private corporations such as consultant firms and design offices.

 

10. Further Study

Upon successful completion of associate’s degree, candidates can go on civil engineering or architecture undergraduate programs in any university by passing the VJT (Vertical Jump Test) exam.

 

11. Manner of Study

Fulltime study program.

1 instructor is available at the program. 3 assistant professors from civil engineering department also give lectures in construction technology program. 12 classes and 2 computer laboratories are available for students.
