1. General Information
The Department of Psychology completed its physical and academic restructuring phase and started undergraduate education with its first students in the 2022-2023 Fall semester. As of the 2023-2024 academic year, there are five doctoral faculty members, one doctoral research assistant and two research assistants in our department.
The main aim of the department is to train qualified psychologists who are competent in their field and have a scientific and ethical perspective. The main goals of our department are;
1) To be a department that is universally recognized and follows current knowledge and developments in psychology,
2) Establishing an interdisciplinary ecosystem that produces knowledge and focuses on research and application,
3) Not only being sensitive to the problems of individuals and society, but offering solutions and implementing solutions to these problems,
4) To give an education and training opportunity with international qualifications that provide scientific thinking and research skills as well as basic knowledge of the subfields of psychology.
5) To train psychologists who have the ability to transfer the knowledge and experience they have acquired to the field of practice within ethical principles.

2. Earned Degree
Students who successfully complete the program earn a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Graduates of the psychology program can use the title of psychologist.

4. Acceptance and Registration Conditions
General acceptance requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to start the program.
5. Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of previous formal learning in Turkish Higher Education institutions, vertical, horizontal and university transfers are carried out within the scope of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" determined by the Council of Higher Education.
6. Qualification Conditions and Rules
The student must have passed all the courses in the program and must not have an FF, DZ or YZ grade. In this program, the student must obtain a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. There is no obligation to apply ınternship for department graduation.
7. Program Qualifications (Learning Outcomes)
1) The student has knowledge of different advanced theoretical approaches in the field of psychology, supported by textbooks containing up-to-date information, application tools and other resources.
2) The student has basic application skills for psychology applications.
3) The student has basic knowledge and skills regarding measurement-evaluation tools used in different subfields of psychology and principles of psychological assessment.
4) The student is aware of the contributions of psychology's basic approach and perspective to other disciplines and interdisciplinary perspectives.
5) The student has knowledge about developments, research, problems and applications in the field of psychology in Turkey.
6) The student has the ability to conduct independent research using the knowledge she/he has acquired in the field of psychology and appropriate research methods (qualitative/quantitative). (Using her/his knowledge about the field of psychology, she/he generates research questions; uses scientific problem solving and critical thinking approach and interprets the results obtained)
7) The student has the skills to collect data, analyze, interpret and report using appropriate statistical methods.
8) The student has the ability to report research results in accordance with scientific writing format.
9) The student has the competence to use information and communication technologies necessary to access and distribute information.
10) The student has knowledge of the relevant legislation and/or professional and ethical values in the fields of application of psychology.
11) The student has basic knowledge/skills of observation and interview techniques.
12) The student has the understanding that characteristics and differences such as age, gender, race, ethnic group, national identity, religion, sexual orientation, disability and socio-economic status should not be a reason for prejudice.
13) The student generates research questions using his knowledge about the field of psychology; uses scientific problem solving approach and interprets the results obtained.
14) The student takes responsibility for scientific studies that will contribute to the development of the field of psychology and activities for the benefit of society.
15) The student is able to inform individuals and institutions on psychology-related issues; has the ability to convey his/her thoughts and solutions to problems verbally and written.
16) The student has the ability to share his/her opinions with experts and non-experts about studies on psychology-related issues and/or solutions to problems with data-based.
17) The student has the competence to follow the information in the field and communicate with colleagues by using English which is the dominant language in psychology literature, at B1 Level.
8. Employment Opportunities for Graduates
Graduates of our department can work as psychologists in public and private institutions and organizations such as human resources departments, research companies, consultancy centers, guidance and research centers, schools, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, private education centers, hospitals, prisons and juvenile courts.
9. Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study postgraduate programs in their field or related fields, provided that they receive valid scores from ALES or equivalent exams and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.

14. Department/Program Opportunities
Five doctoral faculty members, one doctoral research assistant, two research assistants and one administrative staff work in the Psychology Department. In the department, there are 11 offices, three of which are laboratories, and one classroom. The classroom is equipped with a fixed projector and a computer.
