Department of Elementary And Early Childhood Education (2007)

1.General Information

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education offers a four-year program leading to a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

The aim of the the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education is to train future teachers to enhance using of language skills, their personal development, acquire skills, information and communication technologies skills, as well as develop scocial skills, work, study habits, creativity and affection.

2.Degree

Students in Elementary Education Program who successfully complete the program receive a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Students in Early Childhood Education who successfully complete the program receive a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

4.Acceptance and Registration

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students is valid to start the program.

5.Qualification Requirements and Rules

               The student should not have any FF, DZ or YZ grades and complete all the courses successfully in the program. In this program, the student must have a minimum of 240/120 ECTS credits and have at least 2.00 out of 4.00 of the GPA.

6.Program Profile (Purpose)

  • Becomes a teacher who believes in principles and reforms of Atatürk, believes in democracy and the rule of law, aware of Turkish national, spiritual, moral and cultural values, and shows awareness of them in teaching profession.
  • Have pedagogical knowledge about his/her profession area, knowing contemporary teaching methods and techniques, methods of measurement and evaluation and applies them.
  • Be able to use Turkish language suitable for rules, effectively and properly, and to communicate effectively with students.
  • Provides individual and professional development by having lifelong learning awareness and learns learning to learn.

8.Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Students who have successfully completed the program have the opportunity to work in private and public schools.

9.Applying the Graduate Education

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can apply graduate education (in their own field or related areas) if they have valid score for ALES or equivalent exams and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.
